French business club
On April 24th 2014, the French Ambassador to Namibia, Ms. Jacqueline Bassa-Mazzoni, hosted a reception at her Residence for the official launch of the French Business club (FBC) in the presence of Dr. Malan Lindeque, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and industry. Several representatives of French companies based in Namibia or in neighbouring countries were present.
The FBC is an exchange forum for all French companies present in Namibia or intending to do so. Its vocation is to be a meeting point between investors and a go-between for officials, companies, Medias… interested in French business environment.
The goal the FBC is to offer a platform for discussion, exchanges and information on economic and investment matters in Namibia. It aims to promote the interests of French companies and to facilitate an environment favourable to bilateral commercial relations.
Within this context, the FBC will have to take into account the needs and priorities of Namibia and incite our companies to insist on creating local employment and training. It will also see to place their initiatives in the framework of the 4th National Development Plan with the economical and social priorities of the Namibian Government in mind.
The French Ambassador in Namibia is the President of the Club while Mr. Hilifa Mbako, the Director of Areva in Namibia is the Vice-President.
The French Business Club will meet several times a year, an occasion for its members to invite personalities from the political and economical sphere.
